Description: Since 2003 the StripSearch project has identified and nurtured comic illustration talent. Young people receive professional training from award-winning comic artists John McCrea and Hunt Emerson and mentoring from a range of professionals, as well as portfolio development and exhibition support from the Hi8us Midlands team.

One of our greatest successes is our commitment to supporting female talent, within this male dominated industry. Three of our female illustrators have won awards and cash prizes at the last three Annual international Manga and Anime Festivals (IMAF). One of our artists has recently signed a two book graphic novel deal with Bloomsbury and we have supported the first female illustrator to work on The Beano comic.
