South Project Overview
East End Stories:
Working with Primal Pictures, Parallax Independent
and the Rich Mix Cultural Centre, five short films involving international
directors together with young people in local communities.
Tag Map:
An interactive youth consultation project looking at physical
regeneration and change in urban areas, supported by the Carnegie Trust
and piloted in the Olympic Regeneration area.
New Londoners:
A digital media and arts project working
with young refugees and asylum seekers in Lewisham working in partnership
with The Albany, Art of Regeneration (National Theatre at the Albany),
Refugee Youth and South London Refugee Partnership.
L8r:
An interactive teenage pregnancy web project, funded
by the Department of Health and broadcast by the BBC. Participants watch
L8r episodes and vote online to determine what action the characters
take next.
Big Screen Science:
A national project for secondary school teachers
and students to explore the moral and ethical issues of science through
filmmaking, working with scientists, educators and filmmakers to produce
six short films.
The Loop:
An online initiative in partnership with Mental Health Media
enabling young people to create two minute digital stories about their
experiences of mental health issues for an awareness-raising website.
Modern Painters:
A series of contemporary artist’s
profiles made by the Channel 4 Art Show.
Skin Deep:
A BAFTA nominated Hi8us/APT short drama shot
in the Crossways estate in Tower Hamlets, reflecting the internal struggle
of a young, mixed race man growing up in the 1970s.
Shireen Comes Clean:
A drugs education video for school,
youth club and community use. Commissioned by the London Borough of Wandsworth
through the Art of Regeneration and made with young, non-professional
actors who devised the stories.
Sex Love and Video Diaries:
Commissioned by Channel
4, a training programme for SRE teachers.
